“Love through the Ages” Literature - poetry, drama and prose. ‘Text in shared contexts’ focusing on drama, prose and poetry which fall under the heading ’Modern Times: Literature from 1945 to the present day’. 2500 word non examination assessment.
Assessment
Examinations 80% of A Level
- Paper 1: 3 hours, 40% of A Level (Sec A&B closed book, Sec C open book) One Shakespeare play, one poetry text and one comparison question.
- Paper 2: 2 hours 30 minutes, 40% of A Level (Open book) Study of 3 texts: one poetry, one prose and one drama.

Entry Requirements
Grade 5 at GCSE. Must enjoy analysis and discussion of texts and be prepared to do LOTS of independent wider reading.
